Shipsection Production Department - preliminary high
assembly of gantry crane - June 2006 On the 14th of June
2006 we have performed the operation of preliminary high assembly of the gantry
crane for servicing the Shipsection Production Department.
The operation was aimed at lifting the main girder of the
crane to a height of 6 meters. This will allow connecting the supports:
fixed and pivot, as preparation for the final high assembly operation.
IWe did feel a bit uncomfortable because of giving our
guest a bigger share of the load - as the lifting point of the Grohmann crane
was closer to the centre of gravity it had a higher load to lift - but then he
had a bit better equipment in the form of a more modern mobile crane.
Before the final high assembly
most of the remaining works on the girder, supports and trolley will be done, so
that the assembly works on the full hight of the crane will be reduced to the
minimum.
So, the day when the gantry crane
with a capacity of 45 ton will begin operation is closer and closer.

the final high assembly operation it will be lifted to a height almost 6
times bigger! |
